The covenant of St. Michael's Pilgrims of the Jubilee declare our belief in God our Loving Father, in our Risen Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Spirit who is among us. We hear and respond to God's call to minister to the needs of all, that we may grow spiritually as brothers and sisters. We have as our foundation, and the guiding principle of all our activities, fidelity to the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, especially to Our Pope, Benedict XVI, vicar of Christ. Our covenant will be led by the Holy Spirit so that the witness of our lives will reflect the peace gained by accepting the sacrifice of Christ.
Western Massachusetts Catholic Homeschoolers
Statement of Purpose:
Our families come together in order to support each other, as obedient Roman Catholics, and to bring the Catholic way of life to greater fruition and brilliance in our homes. We have as our foundation, and the guiding principle of all our activities, fidelity to the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, especially to our pope, Benedict XVI, vicar of Christ. Thus we affirm the Magisterium on contraception and other life issues as central to our mission as families. As emphasized in the Second Vatican Council, we parents have a most solemn obligation to educate our offspring. Therefore we are the primary educators of our children. As lay faithful, we are dedicated to promoting home education among Catholic families and to support those families who are engaged in providing their children’s primary education at home.

Bishop Pierre-André Dumas of the Diocese of Anse-a-Veau and Miragoane affirmed this in a Caritas communiqué, in which he described his experience of the 7.0-magnitude quake that struck Port-au-Prince Jan. 12. "At the moment it's all about the emergency," he said, "but one day the questions will be about reconstruction." The prelate continued, "That doesn't mean rebuilding things as they were before; instead we have a chance to build a better Haiti in which people are at the heart of everything." by David on December 22, 2009, 04:22:01 PMIn a series of decrees issued on December 19, the Vatican has approved miracles allowing for the canonization of five people and the beatification of five others. The Vatican also recognized the 1984 murder of Father Jerzy Popieluszko by Communist intelligence officers as a martyrdom, preparing the way for his beatification. The decrees, approved by Pope Benedict XVI during a private audience with Cardinal Angelo Amato, prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, also proclaimed that ten other candidates for sainthood had lived lives of heroic virtue. Those decrees make the candidates eligible for beatification if a miracle is attributed to their intercession. The two decrees commanding the greatest public attention were those recognizing the heroic virtue of Pope Pius XII, who reigned from 1939 to 1958, and Pope John Paul II, who reigned from 1978 to 2005. continued...188 Views | 3 Replies
